Help Terri Luanna DaSilva Fight Breast Cancer
Benefit Fundraiser:
On March 2, 2012, the gracefulwomanwarrior committee sponsored a hugely successful concert and silent auction to benefit Terri Luanna Da Silva in her battle against Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Terri’s compelling story captured the hearts of people all over the globe. In 2009, Terri, her husband Heron, and baby Marisa put their lives in New York on hold to care for Terri’s mother, Jeanne Robinson, who was battling late stage bile duct cancer. After Jeanne’s death in May 2010, they moved to Dartmouth until July 2011, when Heron landed a job at Honda in Ohio. Terri and her family eagerly embraced their new life only to discover a short 5 months later that Terri faced her own cancer battle.
Soon after, the gracefulwomanwarrior committee was formed. Our goal was to raise funds to assist Terri with mounting medical bills, childcare and travel costs, accessing home supports and providing Terri with the most cutting edge treatment available.
Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine the generosity of the human spirit that culminated in the extraordinary Benefit on March 2nd. Close to 300 people gathered at the Country Club of New Bedford for a magical evening filled with love, laughter, music, dancing, tears and selfless giving. Terri and her family joined us virtually, via skype, and the highlight of the evening was watching Terri, Marisa and guests dance right along side us.
We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all those who contributed; Tomlinson & O’Neil Insurance, our principal benefactor, the fabulous gracefulwomanwarrior committee comprised of Laurie, Mark and Jamie O’Neil, Dori Legge, Mary and Jimmy Rodericks, Chris O’Neil, Peggy, Mike and Nikki Verronneau, Maureen Dutra, Amy Dubois, Peggy Barry and Lynn Donohue, and the countless individuals and businesses who donated to our Benefit and can be viewed by clicking the Program Booklet Link below.
In the end, the reason for the tremendous outpouring of support is the courage, determination, grace, compassion and wisdom of Terri Luanna. She is truly a gracefulwomanwarrior, inspiring each and every individual she comes into contact with, be it in person, via skype or through her blog.
On behalf of Terri and the gracefulwomanwarrior committee, we would like to express our deep gratitude for your generosity of spirit, of love and of giving. It affirms our belief that the power of loving connection makes the impossible truly possible.
